RIGOBERTA MENCHU: When the Mountains Tremble
Rigoberta Menchú, Activist for the Indian Maya peasant communities, Rigoberta Menchú Tum has become more and more internationally recognised as a leading advocate for indigenous communitiesâ rights and ethno-cultural reconciliation. Her work has led to her being awarded several prizes, amongst them the Nobel Peace Prize in 1992. At the time she was the youngest person as well as the first indigenous recipient of the Nobel.
